What materials do you use?
I paint on acid free 100% cotton 300 gsm hot pressed watercolour paper, which has the highest level of water capacity making it the best quality for watercolour fine art painting. Over my career I have accumulated a pallet of high pigment watercolour paint and love them for their boldness and range. Paintings are first sketched in pencil then pencil is often replaced with moments of fine tip black pen, before the paint comes in to bring it to life.
Uniquely Original:
Being that these are original paintings, brush to paper, hand made creations, some minor ‘imperfections’ may appear. By that I mean, a spot of colour or a slight smudge may end up along the otherwise clear border. Or the alignment of the painting may be fractionally favouring one side. These details are fixed up digitally for prints or digital art, but this is an original! I say ‘imperfections’ though many people feel those working marks are part of the beauty of an original painting.
Care and Safety
It is advised to seek out quality frames as some low quality frames can leave a yellowing residue on the paper over time.
Avoid displaying your painting in direct sunlight as the sun will bleach anything it shines on repeatedly over time.
I take a high quality scan of all paintings, so if disaster does strike and your painting is damaged do let me know and arrangements can be made to print you a replacement. Charges may apply.
